Eva N.
Eva N. has always believed in education.
She received her first A.A. degree in General Education
in Arkansas and another A.A. in Sociology years later
while living in LA. Never to rest on her laurels, in
1976 at age 53 Eva received a B.S. degree in Sociology
from UCLA, doing this while raising two daughters and
holding three jobs on campus.
Eva's mobility and independence
wil be greatly increased, and her isolataion will
be lessened.
Eva proudly remembers fighting for civil rights and
working for C.O.R.E., the Congress Of Racial Equality.
She marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and recalls
being beaten and jailed several times.
Eva currently is living in an apartment building for
seniors. Eva goes to dialysis three times per week.
WISE Care Management has arranged for her to have an
emergency response system and a Medic Alert Bracelet
and is also assisting Eva in getting her electric wheelchair
repaired. With a functioning wheelchair, Eva's mobility
and independence will be greatly increased, and her
isolation will be lessened.
Although Eva has several physical challenges,
her attitude has remained positive and optimistic and she's receptive to new experiences.
