James R.
James, seventy-seven, lives with his wife/caregiver Mary, son and two grandsons in a 3 bedroom house in Los Angeles. He had a stroke 3 years ago that paralyzed his abdominal muscles which impairs his ability to keep food and liquids down. He has slurred speech, a heart condition, high blood pressure and is incontinent.
Mary's attendant care is provided to James with a wonderful sense of humor that keeps him in good spirits throughout the day. Mary is experiencing health problems of her own and strained finances within the household have made it difficult to afford basic necessities for the care of James.
WISE has helped James

WISE Senior Services was contacted and a care manager visited James and Mary for a psycho/social assessment. Recognizing their need, WISE purchased undergarments for incontinence and nutritional supplements to provide daily nourishment to James.
This arrangement helped James and his family in their time of medical and financial need. Mary expressed her extreme pleasure and is grateful to WISE Care Management services for their involvement.
