Your Loved One is in a Nursing Home...
What Do You Do Now?

Santa Monica, July 7, 2004

WISE Senior Services' new Family and Friends Nursing Home Education Project is designed to assist family members and friends of nursing home residents. WISE is offering a FREE 4 hour training workshop that will be held in Santa Monica on Tuesday, July 20th. The Family and Friends Nursing Home Education Project will teach family members and friends what to expect following the placement of their loved one in a nursing facility.

The purpose of the workshop will be to help family members and friends of nursing home residents to learn not only what to expect after placement, but also how to advocate for their loved ones by learning about topics such as: resident rights, family councils, appropriate levels of care, eating and dressing assistance and quality of care issues.

If your loved one is in a nursing home and you need answers, we can help. The Family and Friends Nursing Home Education Project offers you FREE training so that you can obtain valuable knowledge specific to nursing home issues, empowering you to help your loved one.

Space will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. For additional information or to make reservations, contact: Kim Daughton at (310) 394-9871, ext. 439 or email kdaughton@wiseseniors.org
The Friends and Family Nursing Home Education Project is supported by a grant from UniHealth Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization whose mission is to support and facilitate activities that significantly improve the health and well being of individuals and communities within its service area.
