Estate Planning: Free at WISE Senior Services

Santa Monica, June 21, 2004... As an addition to its extensive services to Los Angeles County's community of older adults, WISE Senior Services also provides monthly private estate planning consultations absolutely free. Initial dates for one half hour sessions are available (by appointments only) on Monday, July 19th, Tuesday, September 21st, Tuesday, October 19th and Tuesday, November 23rd between the hours of 1:00p.m. and 3:00 p.m. with Fred J. Marcus, an estate planning attorney with 22 years experience in estate planning.

Fred Marcus, who serves as chairman of the WISE Senior Services Endowment committee, will advise in all areas of estate planning including setting up a plan, reviewing already existing plans, estate and probate taxes, beneficiary designations and assistance in philanthropic planning.

"Estate planning is not easy to even discuss for most people" explains Fred Marcus, frequent lecturer and author of many published articles. "No one likes to think of 'putting our affairs in order' before we die, especially when doing so is cost prohibitive. If we at WISE can ease the way, we will be adding to our mission of improving the quality of life for aging adults."

WISE Senior Services is a multiservice, private nonprofit 501(c)3 organization founded in 1968. WISE offers a variety of services to older adults and their families in the Los Angeles area ranging from support services for the frail elderly to interesting volunteer opportunities for the well and active senior. The population of seniors served by WISE includes those who are at risk when alone, have a physical or mental impairment, such as Alzheimer's Disease or other forms of dementia, want to continue living in their own homes, are at risk by exploitation by others and/or are lonely or depressed.
